Government Funding Could Bring More Jobs To Laredo

By KGNS News

A delegation from the Eagle Ford Shale consortium is back in Laredo after taking a trip to Washington D.C. to urge government leaders to send federal funding to Laredo.
The funding would go towards providing proper training to people of Webb County who want to get a job related to exploration at Eagle Ford.
Other grant money being discussed would provide more housing for the area that's already saturated with people looking for somewhere to live.
The consortium met with several congressman and made a presentation to the U.S. Department of Agriculture, Rural Development, Department of Labor Housing, and Urban Development and many other agencies.

"Its here in Laredo and its here in Webb county and as long as the leaders put the money where it needs to be and plan ahead i think we will be on the right track at the right time."

The group is also pushing for funding to improve roads and highways that are taking a beating from all the trucks going through the area.
