HEB is celebrating the summer break with their Burger Bash. Melissa Espino, from HEB Plus, shows us two easy recipes to join in the fun. Also, she shares how kids are invited to learn healthy cooking skills and meal options through HEB's Kids in the Kitchen Summer Series.
Here's the recipe for That Green Sauce Burger, and the Bacon Jam Glazed Burger.
That Green Sauce Burger Prep Time: 10 minutes Grill Time: 10 minutes Ingredients: 1 pkg of HEB Bake Shop Rolls 1 lb. of Prime or all natural ground beef 2 tbsp of fresh chopped cilantro and green onions 1 tsp of salt 1/4 cup of HEB That Green Sauce *toppings: avocado slices, cheese and pickles. Instructions: -Preheat your grill, or skillet to Medium-High Heat. Mix beef, cilantro, green onions and That Green Sauce gently in a bowl taking care not to overwork the meat. Form into 4 patties. - Spray burgers with cooking spray, or rub with olive oil, and grill 5 minutes per side. Top with avocado and cheese. - Toast your bread, and spread a spoonful of That green sauce. Assemble and enjoy!
Bacon Jam Glazed Burger Prep Time: 10 minutes Grill Time: 10 minutes You will need: 1 lb of ground beef patties, 1/4 inch thick 1/2 cup of Better Than Good Bacon Jam 1 fresh onion, sliced 1 package of sliced cheese 1 package of HEB Deli Rounds 2 tbsp of Adam's Reserve Hamburger Rub Instructions: -Season your patties with your rub, and grill about 5 minutes per side. -When the burger is fully cooked, top off with your bacon jam, sautéed onions and a slice of cheese. -Place onto a thin round and enjoy!
