Some HEB employees spent the day lending a hand to local firefighters. Volunteers with HEB's Helping Heroes initiative went out to their local fire stations to lend a helping hand. They prepared home-cooked meals for all firemen and helped with chores around the fire station. Pedro Gaytan, HEB Mercado Manager, says the company does various projects to help the community throughout the year. "HEB does things throughout the year but as far as helping heroes, which is going into the fire stations, we do it every year." The local HEB Mercado location manager says each store is assigned a local fire station they tend to every year.
