High School Student Donates To Locks Of Love
Locks of love is an organization where people donate their hair to patients battling illnesses that cause hair loss.
Our Lauren Kendrick joins us with more on one special individual doing just that.
A local student is once again donating her hair and chose to do it right here at our KGNS studio.
Here's her story.
"I've been doing this. This will be my third time. I've been growing my hair since I was four. I've grown this length of hair for five to six years."
This selfless senior from St. Augustine says many people don't put much significance to their hair, but she does.
"I just think it will mean a lot especially to so many children out there who have cancer."
After looking at her hair for one last time, it was time to chop off the hair she had grown out for over five years.
Her sister had the honor of cutting the braid that measured over ten inches. Farahn dropped the hair in a bag to send off and explained what it meant to her.
"It feels really good knowing it's going to do something for someone else who really needs it."
Minutes after donating her hair, she said she's already planning her next donation for the charity.
"In probably another five years when I'm in college, I'll probably donate it again."
