High winds in the Gateway City have caused multiple problems across Laredo. Officials with AEP have reported over 6,000 customers are experiencing power outages across the city. The Laredo Police Department also says their building along with the municipal court have also experienced outages, however, they add that the emergency dispatching line is working properly. Earlier today, the WBCA Carnival postponed opening its gates on the last day of operation due to these high winds. Officials say they are working hard to repair all outages.
Meanwhile, some of the damage caused by the high winds we've been experiencing can be seen across town. A picture was sent by a viewer of a light pole that was knocked down at the parking lot at Applebee's on San Dario, landing on top of a red SUV. There have been no reports of any injuries.
