It was a big day for the kids of UISD's STEP Academy and LISD's Lara Academy as world famous boxer Juan Manuel Marquez made stops at the two schools.
Marquez is in Laredo promoting his fourth fight with Manny Pacquio and took a few minutes out of his schedule to visit with the at risk teens.
Many of the students paid close attention as the man they've watched battle some of boxing’s best spoke directly to them.
The director of the STEP Academy says the message given by Marquez is a good one, not only for these kids, but anyone lucky enough to hear it.
