A group of Laredoans have gotten together to investigate the paranormal activity that people report in the city. They're called the Paranormal Scene and are working on a tv show featuring the unexplained phenomenons they find.
"Everybody's interested in wanting to know what's out there, but at the same time, they're hesitant."
Aaron Elekes is one of three members of the Paranormal Scene. It's a new show covering the paranormal incidents happening right here in the Gateway City. He says the reason why he decided to investigate paranormal activity is simple.
“I don't believe in ghosts. But there's something out there. I don't know what it is. I want to find out what it is."
The Paranormal Scene members have only been doing this for a short time, but already have some proof of paranormal activity.
"We've filmed five locations so far and we've caught some interesting things that I can't explain."
Elekes played some audio of what they found using an EVP detector during their investigations. Listen closely and you'll hear a little girl say 'thank you, can you see me'.
And in this clip Elekes asks what is reflecting in a room and a man's voice says 'my head'.
When we asked what those voices are, Elekes says he can't explain.
"It's energy..spirits..another world. I have no idea."
With the history and culture that Laredo has, Elekes says this city is a hot bed for paranormal activity. And even though he's out investigating the activity, he's not completely convinced.
"I'm on the fence. I don't know which way to go. I want more proof. That's why I'm trying to find more proof."
