Superintendents from both school districts are also expected at our nations capital, and it comes after government aid will set cuts around the educational board.
We caught up with Dr. Marcus nelson who is in San Antonio right before taking off to to D.C. he says, "the commitment in Laredo is to make sure that we don't let the politics of Washington hurt the kids in Laredo I can tell you there wont be any immediate layoffs our board has made it very clear we will do what ever it takes to make sure that the politics of education is not a distraction from the teaching and learning of whats needed to do."
Nelson adds they will be talking about several issues including flu shot initiative budget cuts and vocational programs.
