Laredo Teacher Remembered

By KGNS News

It was Monday afternoon when Esther Buckley was killed in a tragic accident just north of Laredo. Her co-workers are left mourning the loss of a woman they say can never be replaced.
"She instilled upon her students that the goals they must reach are reachable through hard work and dedication."
Pro says she was one of the hardest working people at the high school. She was the first one to get there in the morning and the last one to leave. She was recognized for her outstanding service by us here at KGNS with our one class at a time award.
"To the very end, Esther was a strong advocate for all students and teachers."
In fact, we're told she and her son who is also an educator with LISD were on their way back from Austin where she had been lobbying for more money for Laredo schools. Pro says she also put others needs above her own. A spanish teacher has been making ribbons to honor the teacher who taught for four decades.
"Esther will forever live in our hearts. We say here that once a tiger, always a tiger. Well Esther's once a tiger, forever a tiger."
