A Saudi princess living in California has been arrested and accused of holding a Kenyan immigrant against her will.
Meshael Alayban, who prosecutors sayis a wife of a Saudi prince, appeared in an Orange County, California court on Thursday.
The 42-year-old was charged with human trafficking. Authorities say the Kenyan woman signed a two-year contract with an employment agency guaranteeing she would be paid $1600 a month to work eight hours a day, five days a week.
Prosecutors say she was instead forced to cook, clean and do other household chores for 16 hours a day and was paid $220 a month.
Alayban posted a $5 million bail and officials say she surrendered her passport.
