Jason Collins made headlines when he came out as the first NBA player who is openly gay. The 34 year old center for the Washington Wizards team says he's had incredible support after his announcement. So what do people here in Laredo think? We hit the streets to ask. "I don't think it's a big deal. It's good that people come out and express themselves." Also agreeing it's not a big deal is Luis Ceja. "No, it's not a big deal. It's a free country. Do whatever you want." Since Collins came out, he says he has received tons of support through social media. He says he hopes this will make the path easier for others to follow. People that have never heard of Collins share their opinions with us. "I believe everybody's equal and they have rights they should respect." The majority of people tell us they support Collins' decision. Others tell us it doesn't affect them either way. "I'm kind of neutral about it. I don't mind." Another man tells us he is open minded and wouldn't want to impose his opinion on somebody else. "Time has changed and everybody has their own opinion. If they want their lifestyle to be like that, that's their choice."
