Laredo's Water Treated Regularly
The Jefferson Water Treatment Plant in Laredo provides clean tap water to more than 60,000 households in the city.
It was originally built in 1954, but has gone through several updates in recent years.
They spoke to KGNS, in light of the water boil alert placed for parts of Webb County, about their five-step process.
It can take anywhere from 10 to 12 hours before the water is safe to drink.
The water is tested every day and the data is checked by the TECQ on a regular basis.
