While most retail stores are packed with Christmas returns, one kind of store is packed with people making last minute buys before the new year.
That would be the liquor stores and one local place is telling me they expect record numbers before closing today.
"Today, New Years Eve and Christmas Eve are the two biggest days of the year for us. We work all year for today."
Feldman's has been open for three years now and said their store broke the record in sales on Christmas Eve in south Texas.
As the bottles fly off the shelves, store manager Freddie Castillo said they expect to break it, yet again.
"Your hypnotics, Nevo, Buchanan’s, Johnny Walker blacks of course, scotch, vodka, Grey Goose."
As the lines continued to grow as it got later and later, only one word could describe liquor sales on New Year’s Eve.
"It is phenomenal."
All liquor stores will be closed on New Year’s Day.
Due to Texas state law, all liquor stores are not allowed to open on Thanksgiving, Christmas Day, and New Year’s Day.
