A man in his fifties is arrested for statutory rape of a teenage girl.
Fifty-six-year old William Wisner was highly-visible a reference librarian at the Harold Yeary Library at Laredo Community College. Police tell us they received a call expressing concern over his emotional stability. When officers went to his home to investigate, they found a 16-year-old girl there with him.
The teenager was there during school hours, police conducted an interview with the girl. Police say she told them Wisner was her boyfriend and an investigation revealed the girl had in fact been living with the 56-year-old man.
The case was handed over to special investigations and Wisner was arrested on sexual assault of a child statuatory rape.
We went to Wisner's house to ask him about these allegations, but no one was home.
The Laredo Community College did not have a statement for us regarding the situation on Friday, but we will keep you updated as the investigation progresses.
We were told by investigators she was there willingly and girl said the relationship was consentual.
