Many around the city mourn the innocent lives lost during the 9/11 attacks.
A local man shares his emotional story.
Our Lauren Kendrick has more in our top story at six.
"Seeing those events happen on t.v...it hurt me as a matter of fact...me speaking right now...it totally hurts me."
TSA officer Manuel Leal is brought to tears at the Laredo International Airport during a ceremony honoring those who lost their lives eleven years ago when the twin towers were knocked down, he was so moved he switched careers
"I felt I needed to do something and this was my calling...this was my calling."
Leal says after seeing the countless innocent lives that were lost that morning, he wanted to make sure that would never happen again."
"We won't forget. We're here to remind everybody what happened that day."
It's not just Leal who felt the need to protect the people traveling by plane, but also marketing manager at the airport, Tim Franciscus-Timm.
"I do remember 9/11 very well...very clearly and it's a little bit iconic that I work and represent an airport now."
Timm says he remembers watching the attacks in his college dorm room.
"I knew things had changed. My life had changed."
It's clear to see the passion Tim and Leal have about their jobs at the Laredo International Airport.
"Working with TSA to prevent the attack like 9/11 is something we focus on everyday here."
