The Third Annual Laredo Environmental Summit kicked off Thursday morning at Texas A&M International University with our very own Ann Hutyra moderating the event.
The summit is the first of its kind created and implemented in the City of Laredo.
Thursday's summit brought together local and state leaders who work in identifying problems and solutions to Laredo’s environmental challenges.
The goal is to create an avenue where state environmental officials can work with the community to address urgent environmental issues, educate local students and instill a sense of responsibility in residents.
Some of the issues being addressed are the water system, illegal dumping, littering and conservation.
