A distraught mother calls police saying her husband was threatening to kill her and her 5 year old daughter.
Police arrived at the Versailles apartments in the 5900 block of Santa Maria around midnight after receiving the frantic call. There officers found 32 year old Carlos Olvera holding the little girl and cutting himself on the chin and neck with a box cutter.
Olvera was tackled down and arrested. The little girl did not receive any injuries. Olvera received superficial wounds to his face. An officer was also taken to the hospital after being cut with that box cutter.
Olvera faces numerous charges including aggravated kidnapping, aggravated assault, and endangering a child.
