Well Laredo remains on a water conservation plan. And just as reseviors remain low, Mexican officials agreed this weekend to release more water into the Rio Grande. The release comes from La Fragua Dam, according to the International Boundry Water Commission. Letters sent by US officials to the Mexican government stating that water has been owed to the US and that a water deficit exists all along South Texas. In a statement Congressman Henry Cuellar saying, "We are unsure of the impact this water release will have on water security on our communities, and where mexico stands in relation to the terms of the treaty. I’m thankful to the Mexican government for this good faith in activly working with the us to solve the water availability crises near our international border.” Meanwhile US officials continue to push for quicker, and fuller action from Mexico.
