It's something many people across the country, and even parts of the world, have come to think about the border: Excessive violence and the fear of going missing right after crossing that bridge.
According to several media outlets, 44-year-old Marc Menard from Laval, Quebec had been traveling through Mexico with his dog. He said he would be returning home and was expecting to cross the border at Nuevo Laredo when he last spoke with friends and family on March 14th.
He's five feet, nine inches tall with brown eyes and a shaved head. According to several pictures, he has a large tattoo that starts on his chest and wraps around to his back and over his arm.
He was reportedly driving in a white van with the license plate P95EHL1.
