A new Consul General of the United States has been appointed to Nuevo Laredo.
Doctor David Zimov arrived in Nuevo Laredo from Washington on Monday met with Laredo’s mayor on Thursday.
Zimov, who recently served as Acting Director of the Office of Policy Planning, will now serve as the U.S. Consul in Nuevo Laredo.
He had also previously been assigned to the U.S. Embassy in Bogotá, Colombia.
Zimov says he hopes to continue discussions on ways of improving security, creating jobs and further facilitating legitimate trade and commerce between the two countries.
