We have two stories to tell you about and they both involve cars. James Johnson has more, James. Two crimes both dealing with vehicles, one car was broken into and the other set on fire. It happened on the 2600 block of Vineyard Loop. According to authorities, a suspect broke into a homeowner’s F-150. Once inside the car the suspect found the homeowners garage door opener, giving them access to the garage.
[cg:newsuper\michelle begwin\neighbor] 03:40:43:11 it does surprise me a little bit. 03:41:34:00 we consider this a very safe neighborhood.
Luckily the door that leads to the house was locked but the homeowner is a musician and a lot of his musical equipment was inside the garage. The suspect would walk away with 5 electric guitars, 2 acoustic guitars, and 3 amplifiers: totaling anywhere to 6,000 dollars.
Next…a case of arson. It happened in the early hours on the 1100 block of Quail Hollow Loop. The homeowners were sleeping inside their home when they heard loud banging at their front door. Unaware what was going on they later walked outside to find their car on fire.
03:45:45:01 we were sleeping and one of our neighbors luckily saw our car was on fire. 03:47:02:47 it was very scary we were asleep and somebody put our car on fire.
03:58:22:19 according to authorities the suspect walked up to the gas tank put something inside and set it on fire
The fire had got so hot that one of the tires started melting. Thanks to the Laredo fire department and a neighbor who had noticed the vehicle burning the fire was quickly contained.
Both cases are still under investigation. If you have any information to either one of these cases please call crime stoppers. For KGNS, I’m James Johnson.
