Off-duty Sheriff's Deputy arrested for stealing purse

A member of the Webb County Sheriff's Office is arrested for stealing a purse at a local hospital.
Forty-six-year-old Sheriff Deputy Francisco Fuentes is facing misdemeanor charges in connection to a theft at the Laredo Medical Center.
According to police, the situation happened at around two, Thursday afternoon, when a woman left her purse alone for a moment. She reportedly had $400 in cash inside. When the woman realized her purse was missing, she contacted hospital security.
Acting quickly, the hospital security was able to track down this suspect thru surveillance cameras.
The suspect had taken the purse and left it in his car. They confronted Fuentes when he returned to the hospital, which admitted to the theft.
He was booked at the Webb County Jail and waiting magistration.
Sheriff Cuellar said in a statement: "I am very proud of our agency, which is filled with many individuals who believe and live a life of integrity. Unfortunately, there are a few who lose sight of what is right. However, I will continue to train and educate my employees and together we will continue to provide only the best for Webb County."
