Police have released the identity of the man arrested after Thursday's car chase. He is Juan Vicente Lara. Police did a search of his home and found an assault rifle, one handgun, and a small amount of marijuana, several high power rifle magazines and ammunition. On Thursday, a patrol officer tried to pull over the driver of a car in West Laredo around 6pm. The driver didn't stop but sped toward the international bridges. Police say when the driver stopped the vehicle, three men got out and attempted to swim across the river into Mexico. Two of them made it, but Lara turned back. He is facing evading arrest charges for now.
