Police Issue Statement Regarding Viral Racy Picture

Over the weekend, a picture began circulating online showing a woman standing nearby a police vehicle. This resulted in many calls to our newsroom, as well as messages and texts sent via social network sites.
The images show a parked Laredo Police Unit with a woman dressed in a bikini or underwear, possibly, standing next to the police unit. The second image shows the woman from a different angle as she stands by the door of the police unit along the corner of Santa Clara and the 1500 block of Zapata Highway.
The Laredo Police Department issued their official statement:
"The Laredo Police Department will be looking into this matter. The LPD takes these matters seriously and will do a thorough investigation as to the circumstances involved in this matter. The Laredo Police Department and the citizens of Laredo expect our officers to behave in a dignified and professional matter at all times. We sincerely hope that the public afford us the opportunity to look into this matter before jumping to any conclusions of misconduct. If there are findings to support misconduct then appropriate corrective action will be taken in accordance to LPD policy and procedures."
