By KGNS News

Now to the other news of the day, police need the public help to locate the latest suspect in a copper theft and it was all caught on tape.
This is thief caught in the act after the owner of this welding truck placed a surveillance camera outside his home in the 45 hundred block of Elizabeth Street.
The man is seen trying to steal the copper wiring out of the truck right in the open in front of the residence
The first time he does not succeed so he's seen walking away from the truck only to return with some bolt cutters.
The man was able to steal some tools and 800 dollars worth of copper. There's a high recycling return fee for copper and that's way police say thefts like this are on the rise.

Joe Baeza \ LPD Public Information:
“We've had quite a bit of problems in terms of theft involving this raw material like plaques, cometary monuments and even people stealing bleachers from cars this is an other prime example of this.”

If you recognize the man caught on tape you can call 727 TIPS and could be eligible for a cash reward of 1 thousand dollars.
