In light of the recent burglaries, we visited Laredo PD and a local hardware store for tips on ways to protect your home.
Becoming a victim of burglary...it can happen to any of us but if you take proactive steps your home can be less of a target to would be thieves. The Laredo Police Department offers services to help. It's called target hardening, all you have to do is call community relations schedule an appointment and an officer will check how secure your home is.

The officer can also check your landscaping...to make sure you have proper visibility so it won't give criminals a place to hide. If you’re going out of town for a while Laredo PD also offers what is called a patrol by. All you have to do is contact dispatch let them know the days you'll be out of town and an officer will check up on your home.

A home improvement store also offers things to protect your home and the best part is they're affordable. They offer an array of different products from motion sensors, doorstoppers with alarms, cameras, and security signs.

These products are a good alternative to an expensive security system and by doing any of these simple things will give you peace of mind.
