Some members of the community were concerned when they received in a letter in mail saying drinking the water may be hazardous to your health. The letter was sent to every customer they have an address for on file, stating the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality notified The City of Laredo drinking water being supplied to customers exceeded the maximum contaminant level for total Trihalomethanes. Trihalomethanes are formed as a byproduct predominantly when Chlorine is used to disinfect water for drinking.
