Laredo residents who saw flooding during the rainstorms this week took their concerns to the city today. Residents, some in tears, asked city leaders what could be done following the damage to their homes. Some residents reported flooding as bad as several feet inside and were evacuated outside their neighborhood Monday morning. Many were questioning developers and brokers that were involved in the sale of their homes, who they say discouraged the purchase of flood insurance. City manager Carlos Villarreal said he may assemble a committee to look in what was done when residents bought their homes. He told residents the city will do what it can and suggested filling an application with the red cross. Those several dozen residents have said they will be hiring an attorney from outside Laredo to investigate their contracts and planning in the neighborhood.
