Some Laredo residents are hoping their neighborhood can be cleaned up. One resident in this south Laredo neighborhood near Centeno Elementary says the sidewalks are often blocked by a lot of trash and even tree branches. He says it's not uncommon to see discarded tires, and feels it's bad for the environment. He says no one ever cleans up the area and it's hard for people who do a lot of walking, to get where they're going. "I hope that people do something about it, the cleaning, cleaning that backyards, all of it along Pita Mangana, all along it's very awful. I wish they would just clean it up so it would look nice and for the environment you know." We contacted the city of Laredo, and they said they hadn't received any reports from residents in the area about the trash. They were sending a crew to check it out. They remind residents that you can report such problems to the city by calling 311.
