Special Students of the Month Ceremony

A group of students were honored for being selected special students of the month. Parents and educators were on hand at United High School to recognize the group for all they’ve accomplished in the classroom. The Special Student of the Month ceremony was started by Judge Danny Valdez more than 15 years ago. One local special-ed teacher says he's incredibly proud of his students. More than a dozen students were recognized from both school districts and received medals, backpacks, gift cards, and several other gifts.
Meanwhile, our own Lupita Benavidez from Telemundo Laredo was on hand to congratulate the students at the ceremony. She spoke to those in attendance, including parents, teachers, and educators, about working together to help make the students successful not only in school but in life as well. Congratulations to all those students who were recognized today.
