Two people in Laredo are injured by stray bullets right after midnight.
According to the Laredo Police Department, the two victims were identified as 57 year old Roberto Ubaldo and 25 year old Luis Alberto Cantu. The first incident happened at the 1100 block of East Price, when the victim was outside of his home right after midnight and was hit by a stray bullet in the head. According to police, he was injured and taken to LMC for treatment, and is in stable condition. The other incident happened shortly after that, at the 1000 block of San Enrique. That's where the second victim was struck by the stray bullet. He was treated and released from the hospital.
Now, the Laredo Police Department is urging our community to put a stop to this tradition of shooting guns off into the air. Please be on the lookout, since tonight it could also happen during ongoing New Year festivities.
