It's that time of year again. Students are returning to school but as parents how concerned should you be about your children's safety? You may recall last week when a man entered an elementary school in Georgia and opened fire inside the building. Thankfully, no one was hurt and the suspect was taken into custody. It sparked some memories of the now-infamous sandy hook shooting. With all the violence happening on school campuses across the United States how prepared is one of the college campuses here in Laredo? James Johnson has more, James.
You see it in the news more and more another school on lock down because of an active shooter. So how prepared is TAMIU? I visited the campus early to find out. TAMIU also has emergency phones around campus that connects students directly to dispatch at the university. This system can also be used for non-emergency things like help with a flat tire or police escort. For KGNS, I’m James Johnson.
