A top lieutenant of the Zetas drug cartel captured this weekend may have had a part in the death of American David Hartley.
Alvador Alfonso Martinez Escobedo was captured after a gunfight along a stretch of highway outside of Nuevo Laredo on Saturday.
He is suspected of being behind the slaughter of 72 foreign migrant workers in August 2010.
It is also speculated that he was also behind the death of David Hartley, who was shot while on his jet-ski on falcon lake, some 60 miles from Laredo that same year.
