Del Mar Boulevard traffic will be inconvenienced by a major water main break near the Winfield entrance, and construction along another portion close to I-35 Monday morning.
A major water main break over the weekend will cause traffic inconvenience Monday morning. City of Laredo utility crews will continue working to repair a line break that pumps water into the Killam tank. The break resulted in the road caving in near the Winfield entrance off Del Mar Boulevard. As a result, crews have closed the far west lane of Del Mar between Winfield and Gold's gym. No one was injured, but city officials say some residents lost water pressure throughout Sunday. They urge drivers to use extreme caution while passing through the area.
Another portion of Del Mar will be closed, this one a little closer to I-35. Beginning at 8:30 AM and going through 4:30 PM, a private contractor will close one lane driving West, to make a new sewer tap connection for the new McDonald's under construction located at 102 West Del Mar Boulevard. Construction will also continue tomorrow on Tuesday. Drivers are cautioned to use extreme caution when traveling through the area and follow all traffic warning signs.
