WBCA Weekend List of Events

We're helping you plan your weekend with a rundown of WBCA events you can choose from.

Carnival is now open! The entire family can head out to one of the most popular attractions of the WBCA festivities. Gates open at 5 PM at the Laredo Energy Arena parking grounds on Monday through Friday, and at noon on Saturdays and Sundays. Admission is only $2 and the prices range on individual tickets for the carnival attractions.

This next event is deemed the funniest. The Comedy Jam for George is taking place Friday night (2/10/12) with two separate show times, 7 & 10 PM, at the Laredo Little Theater located at 4802 Thomas Ave. Tickets are selling out quickly and are $25 per person. Tickets are available for purchase at the Laredo Paint & Decorating store. The show is for mature audiences only.

If you focus on health, don't miss the Founding Father's 5K Fun Run and Health Fair on Saturday, Feb. 11, at the Laredo Medical Center, Community Center, Tower B. Registration for the race begins at 7:30 AM with the race beginning at 8:30 AM. The pre-registration fee for the race is $5, but $10 on the day of the race. The Health Fair is completely free of charge to all and will include a variety of free screenings. If you do plan on attending the screening, don't forget to fast; that means no food. Right after that , the LCC Family Fun Fest and Musicale kicks off from 12:00 PM, noon, through 5:00 PM. It's taking place at the Fort McIntosh Campus Downtown in front of the Maravillo Gym. This event is great for kids with lots of activities, inflatables and a terrific petting zoo. There will also be plenty of food booths and entertainment. Admission is free, but there is a minimal charge for activities inside, so take a little cash with you.

And on Sunday, Feb. 12, don't forget to attend the Stars and Stripes Airshow. The WBCA Stars and Stripes Airshow will be held at the Laredo International Airport at 11:00 AM. Admission is $5 for adults, while children 12 years and younger go in for free.
