1,500 lbs of Marijuana Seized by Laredo Police

By KGNS News

It was fifteen hundred pounds of marijuana that according to Laredo Police were seized in the 8300 block of Tejas Loop. They say the bundles were sitting outside in plain view of everyone.
Personnel of the business where the marijuana was found say they have no idea what happened on the property overnight. Authorities believe the narcotics were in a transition phase waiting to be picked up.
"Right now there is a demand on all narcotics probably the result of a transitionary phase in the transport of these narcotics."
The drug is said to have a street value close to $800, 000 dollars here on the border. Value is said to increase as the drugs make it North; once they pass the check point.
"These are drugs that stay here, but I'll be honest the grand majority are transported throughout the United States."
The massive drug seizure comes as the result of an investigation conducted by Laredo Police narcotic and criminal investigation division.
Arrests in this case are pending.
"For right now there are no people who are arrested on this case. We've two people at least who are being investigated in relationship to the seizure of narcotics."
