$4 Billion Slash to Education

By KGNS News

Well you heard about for quite some time state budget cuts affecting your children’s education.
Now the vote is just days away.
Early this week lawmakers expected to make a decision on slashing $4 billion to our public education.
The house appropriations committee has already approved the new school finance plan as part of a larger budget bill.
The full house is expected to vote on the bill this week.
It’s an issue our local Texas State Teachers Association is following closely.
The TSTA is asking all of Laredo to stay informed about all the bills being voted on that affect public education and asking parents to get involved.
Meanwhile, again the bill involving this $4 billion budget cut is expected to take place early this week.

For the MONEY??? Just look at the teacher pay scale in both districts. Go to their websites and look. No, not for the money. Retirement is becoming less secure as well for educators.

That 4 Billion will go to the Military, since Osama may bomb us again, and Mexicans may just hop the border in droves and feed our children Mota. The US ranks 25th in education in the world.. with this slash, we will rank like our Healthcare system ranks.. 34th.

I wonder which business will get tax breaks now. These guys were about jobs, jobs, jobs, seems they forgot to mention its lost jobs, lost jobs, lost jobs with all the cut backs. We just lost productive individuals who are now looking for jobs, jobs, jobs.
