The school year is right around the corner, and thousands of Laredo students are especially excited to go back this year. Today, U.I.S.D. officials opened the doors of the new United High to the public; showing off a campus many though they'd never see in Laredo. Our Annette Garcia has the details. "(Annette:) That's right Concetta. Many students we spoke to say the school is simply breathtaking. Students and parents packed the hallways of United High earlier today. Both U.I.S.D. officials, former United students, even city and county leaders were all present for a special rededication of the school, finally opening the doors to the public. At over 400 thousand square feet, many students say they'll be walking a little farther from class to class this year. Meanwhile, teachers say they're stunned with the school and are sure students will be as well. Laura Salido, an art teacher at the school said, 'they're gonna be thrilled. As you can see, it looks like a mall. They're really going to enjoy their education.' Tonight on Pro 8 News at Ten, we'll hear from the students themselves on what they expect the first day of class to be like. Back to you."
