City moves forward with plans for ballpark

By Ray Gomez

Laredo is one step closer to getting a new baseball stadium.

City Council selected an architectual firm for the ball park.

Council unanimously voted on H.K.S. Sports and Entertainment of Dallas working in association with Humphries and Sanchez Architects of Laredo.

The two firms will be working in conjuction to provide Council with feasibility plans, surveys, designs, and specifications on construction for the professional baseball facility.

Dr. Michael Landeck\DISTRICT 3 "These architects become like consultants to City Council and we have ideas and our fantasies and they can put it more into an architectural framework and help us make very serious decisions on how it will look like, how big it should be and things like that."

The new stadium is to be built near the Laredo Entertainment Center.

Ideally, the stadium would have 8 to 10 thousand seats.

Just look at how much Humphries, Sanchez & Puig contributed to belmares and his chosen replacement navarro and you'll see why they were awarded the contract. That's how business is done downtown.

You're right Big O, all you have to do is follow the money trail to see who has been getting the city contracts.

Get with the program boys, that's how it works in Laredo. It's easy to get city contracts......you just have to know who to pay off!
