In a surprise move from the federal government in Mexico, a law has been enacted legalizing all drugs for personal use.
The law makes it legal to possess and use small amounts of marijuana, cocaine, and heroin even L.S.D. and methamphetamines.
The law enacted today defines the amounts that are legal for personal use.
People caught with those amounts would not face criminal prosecution but when caught for a third time the person would be required to complete treatment programs.
Although the government specifies no way of enforcing that the law takes effect tomorrow.
In 2006, a similar bill was considered by then President Vicente Fox.
It was highly criticized by the U.S. government.

I don't care what you do in the privacy of your own house/apartment/crack shed....BUT we all know that 99% will do what alcohol users do...DRIVE, FLY AIRLINES, OPERATE MACHINERY, ETC.... Can you come out of your FOG long enough to see what consequences that will cause. Here is a hilarious short video on driving under the influence of different drugs...... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VCNDeMi2qdA

Now those who are for legalizing drugs in the US can now just go live south of the border in that great society where drug use is now legal. The liberals who want drug use in our country legalized will now be swarming to Mexico to live in a country where drug use is rampant and now legal----wrong--the hypocrites will not go. You now have a choice. You can now move to Mexico and live in a society where drug use is legal. Mexico is just south of here.Don't let the door hit you on the way out!

Is this their way to boost tourism. Get em stoned and they won't hear the gunfire at the resorts.

That should increase tourism. Is Mexico the new Amsterdam? That's great! Can all the Mexican illegal aliens go back to Mexico now?

I can't wait for our teenagers to go on spring break in Cancun next year! Cocaine, heroin, meth, oh ya! Mexico's new drug tourism industry.

And, as an afterthought, we have an estimated 20 milllion illegal Mexican aliens in the United States. Maybe, after passing this law, Mexico will gain an estimated 20 million illegal Americans.... Serves them right....

Allow the stupid and uneducated to have drugs. Its a great way to get even more junkies and homeless people living on the streets.

These drugs will pass on to the newborn siblings, and future generations will generate drug addicts – Mexico known as a drug-addict nation, i.e. Afghanistan.

It is going to be tough to educate our kids not to go to Mexico. We only hope it doesn't happen in the U.S because dont forget they have already thought of it.The Mexican goverment is going to learn a lesson the hard way with OD's going off the roof.

I just cant believe they did that. Isnt it enough with all the crime they already have there, that they need junkies all over the streets. Mexico what are you doing encouraging teenage drug abuse. Parents watch out for your kids and dont let them go into mexico.

Megustasinse, what it will do, will bring more of a death toll to the city of Laredo. From ODs as well as driving "accidents". I say we need to build that new jail NOW, and hire more PD officers. What that will do to the "recovering economy", we will just have to see.

I can imagine the fallout this will have on border cities like Laredo, when news of this spreads. I see more police being needed on the USA border along with Border Patrol agents. I also foresee a large influx of drug addicts coming to places like Laredo only to "get their fix" this will cause cities like ours to undergo a change, that would only be negative.

WTF! I guess Mexico is hurting big time for tourism. They want to lure all those college kids back to Spring Break.
