Water Woes: Laredoans Lose Water Pressure

By Cynthia Cano

An issue at a local water treatment plant leaves residents without water, and many others fearing they will soon lose their water pressure as well. This was the scene over at the Jefferson Water Treatment Facility a few hours ago. Utilities workers have spent hours repairing a 24-inch water valvekl they say gave out earlier this morning. Crews plan on having the problem fixed by 6 this evening and gradually restoring pressure to homes and businesses. City officials say the areas between Guadalupe and Saunders, and Springfield and Arkansas are being affected. A few other areas may also be without pressure at this time.

The City is looking at a new golf course and another bridge yet they can't keep water going to area residents. What's wrong with this picture? Time to clean house. Thanks to one our City Councilmen, at least you have eight liners in the heights where there's no water! Only in Laredo. Shame on you!
