Council members also discussed ways to create a master plan of improvements for Downtown Laredo.
City Officials have been wanting to attract more tourists to the city, but have come to an agreement that Downtown needs some work.
Already included in the master plan are the River Vega Plan, the San Bernardo Project, and Main Street, all working on ways to improve Downtown.
Cindy Liendo Espinoza\DISTRICT 8 "In the next few years we are already looking at bringing the Convention Center downtown, bringing the outlet malls to downtown. We just want to make sure we're ready, we have all the infrastructure we need, zoning in the right place so when all of it becomes a reality we're ready to go."
Once these improvements are made to Downtown, city officials hope our city will be more accessible to tourists and encourage people to our community to go and enjoy.

Which mall is that she is talking about? The one across from the airport, the one over by old Exoticas, the one by Mile marker 18 or the one on the river? That city council is never going to accomplish anything. What have they ever finished that they started? There is an attention span there of two weeks, everything is forgotten, and move onto the next fiasco.Tourism, right!Who in their right mind would come to buy cheap pottery and wire junk and top it off with a taco in Laredo's fine restaurants.
