Airport has received over $21 million in federal funding

The Laredo International Airport has received millions of dollars to better their infrastructure and for their noise abatement program.
So far the airport has received 21 million dollars in federal funding.
According to the airport director, many citizens that live around the airport are taking advantage of this program.
Some have already sold their property to the city; others have asked the airport to sound proof their homes.
In addition the airport has received ten and a half million dollars in federal funding to reconstruct the runway.
"We are having heavy commercial aircraft land and take off at the airport. So we need to update and replace and reconstruct all of those pavements." airport director Jose Flores told Pro 8 News.
That project will be completed by December second.
