Another case that continues to be investigated is the death of a two year old that happened almost three weeks ago.
Police say they are waiting for DNA results taken from the autopsy of Katherine Cardenas.
The DNA results had been sent to a lab in San Antonio and investigators from the Laredo Police Department say they are expecting them any day now.
In the meantime the Webb County medical examiner will not release the cause of death of the little girl although it has been ruled a homicide.
Police say they have no official suspect in the murder.

Wow! For a crime of this magnitude, the DNA results are definitely slow. Maybe local officials should look for a different lab to work with if such a heinous crime as this does not seem to be given priority by the lab they are currently using.

They're taking too long for the DNA results. Giving the suspect time to escape.

Juvenile suspect left possibly to Mexico after DA announced on TV that he would seek the death penalty for the person who committed the crime. Hope, the criminal is caught & Mexican authorities cooperate. Hope the crime does not become cold but is pursued aggressively to be solved.
