Police raid a north Laredo 8-Liner business and find hundreds of machines, after a month-long investigation. The raid happened at around 3 p.m. this afternoon at the intersection of Shiloh and McPherson. Police say it comes after a month long investigation in which under cover officers were paid out cash at least 8 times. The investigation is still underway, and not many details are being released as of yet; but authorities tell us at least 238 machines will be confiscated. We will have all the details coming up tonight at ten.

Did somebody say corruption? said on Monday, Nov 2 at 5:42 AM
I'm sure none of those machines that were recovered belonged to Mr Councilman Juan Narvaez , because he provides free carne asada for the Dallas cowboy parties for Laredos Finest..good job on stamping out the competition, Pd..

now we know why city officals changed the ordinace.the media needs to follow up and ask the city if they are going to revoke the permit to operate.since the owner was also dealing drugs.the machines were from another councilman?????

now we all know what big games rooms are all about and whey the big bucks comes from???? now LPD needs to look into the person or persons issuing the permits to operate a game room and what happen to the backgroud checks the city was going to do before issuing a permit

Maybe now the businesses around this center will get some customers since they will no longer being losing thier money at that center. I bet Eagle Pass has lost alot of people from Laredo visiting since they get the same amusement from these establishments. Don't you love Laredo and its corruption. I do!! So much for the new DA and Sheriff. They are blind from what I can tell.

What about all the other businesses that are doing the same, who decides why some can and other's can't, this is just another example of how Laredo works so corruptly, what where they doing at his house to begin with?

Why they were at his house is irrelevant aren't you happy they caught a possible drug dealer that used the amusement establishment as a money laundering operation?

I don't know why this ongoing machinitas issue is inconsistent with all the hype local law enforcement initiated in shutting these establishments down for good. I think that everyone forgot that the lure of money in these illegally operating businesses cost the integrity of the Laredo police forever more. What also strikes me is that the local media is doing very little in making light of this issue. I guess we should start sending ireports to CNN and let Anderson Cooper come down.

It's about time this place was raided. Judging from the shady characters who loitered around the establishment, it's no surprise that illicit activities were taking place within. Mr. District Attorney, and Mr. US Attorney, prosecute these people and make sure they are convicted.

I know many Laredoans enjoy this type of recreation, but when illegal activities lie within the facade, federal and state laws must be enforced. We cannot turn a blind eye and give acceptance to these crime inducing magnets.

I think we should have an Ordinance to prohibit any Public Official to own a maquinita business. Is not Ethical and invites corruption.

no these machines belong to all the councilman not just narvaez. all of them voted for zone change. we MUST vote ALL of them out office.the media has no back bone here thats why they dont follow up or even ask hard questions. ask the ex F.B.I at noon why he did not see red flags

I WONDER IF THE OWNERS OF THIS MACHINES REPORT THEIR EARNINGS TO THE IRS. PRO 8 NEWS SHOULD ASK THE IRS. OR MADE WE SHOULD IMPOSE A LOCAL SALES TAX TO THE WINNERS AND THAT MIGHT HELP THE CITY WITH EXTRA INCOME. I DON'T THINK THERE IS ANY ACOUNTABLITY ON THE EARNINGS THAT THEY COLLECT
