Yeah lets call the chief and have all the police stop going to the calls and stop patrolling so they can all start looking for you!! Typical laredo never supportive on any initiatives. Understand something, the police have different departments and focus on different things!!! Keep up the good work po-pos! get these guys off the streets!!

It doesn't matter what P.D. does. It all Boils down to if you know someone high enough you won't be touched. I laugh at their ill-fated ways to cover up their unfairness.

Exactly kid, don't be an idiot man the rapist is probably gone from the region, I mean why would he suddenly stop if the cops had no clue about him? Oh well I still say that they should have this every day in random locations throughout the city.

to Impostor Northside Rapist: we all got your point. yes, there will always be bigger fish to fry. There's no need to ask how we "would feel" about the rapist. You're comparing apples to oranges. You're acting as if they know where this rapist lives and they're too lazy to go knock on his door to arrest him. If anything, their chances of catching other law-breakers/criminals by pulling random people over are higher than if they didn't pull them over.

I'm the person that wrote the North Side rapist post. I sent a very strong and convincing message that got the attention of some writers. I didn't mean no disrespect to anyone. Those supporting random checks, let's see how you feel if your family were raped by northside rapist? However, my point is made clear. If you didn't get it, here it goes. What is more important, catching a sexual predator or insurance for vehicles? Ladies, care to comment?

to north side rapist,or whoever you are. you shouldn't joke like that. the son of sam and the zodiac killer also sent similar messages to the media. but they didn't send them via computer where they can easily be tracked. so don't be surprised if you're investigated by police just to make sure you aren't really a rapist.

also.. How about implementing this between 12am - 3am on weekends to catch all the drunk drivers. There's a certain demographic thats out on the streets at that hour and I wouldnt be surprised to hear about weapons charges as well. The taxi services could come into play in helping get people home safely.

Northside rapist. Dont be dumb. Its a shame it was only done for 15 minutes and not longer. Two impounded vehicles in 15 minutes? Imagine how many more they could take off the streets if they had been at it for two hours or so. Hopefully, Chief Maldonado will keep at it with what some citizens may see as the petty violations/crimes. Its the "broken windows" theory. Take care of all the small things and the big things will take care of themselves.

Lol at Northside Rapist... I wonder what happened to him Who cares if it's unconstitutional? As long as they are doing something to curtail the problem and protect the good citizens of our community. Or are you uninsured? They should get like that with drunk drivers too, man the jail would double its population in one weekend.

with 98% of the Laredo population of Mexican descent you might be picked up, and show your papers later.. in the meanwhile you are in jail without any rights.

Hi, my name is the north side rapist. I continue stalking women freely while the Laredo PD pulls over drivers to see if they are financially responsible. Thanks Laredo PD, I can proceed with my degenerate compulsions.

I'm glad police in Laredo have resorted to random stops. Now Border Patrol needs to do the same thing. Anyone walking down the street with expired papers needs to be rounded up and sent back. Let's get the police department involved as well. They need to be enforcing the laws they should have been enforcing a long time ago. Chief Maldonado, keep up the good work.

For several years, I too have been frustrated at seeing the unsafe vehicles threatening our streets. I always said to myself, "why doesn't someone do something about this." Well, finally I see the police department, who is charged with enforcing state laws, doing what they should have done a long time ago.

I only hope that the police department continues these types of initiatives. I'm tired of seeing vehicles with expired inspection stickers, paper license plates, and extremely loud mufflers. While some of us comply with the law of keeping up with State requirements, others dodge the law. My worst pet peeve is uninsured motorists. Chief Maldonado, keep up the good work.

I think this police department as so thirld world that they dont know that this is Unconstitutional in the United States. Is Laredo Texas in the United States or in a Totalitarian Banana Republic from the third world ?? with this City Government is hard to tell.
