Newly crowned Miss Texas Teen USA, Chelsea Morgensen, speaks to our cameras

By Ray Gomez

A Laredo teen is sporting a new look. Chelsea Morgensen is Miss Texas Teen USA. The freshman from the Alexander High School won the title this weekend in Houston. The 15-year-old beat out a field of hundreds from around the state to take the crown:

"Onstage was such an experience. It was something I'll remember for the rest of my life. And winning the title just means so much to me, and representing Texas at the USA pageant will be so awesome. It's such an honor."

Chelsea says she owes the win to lots of hard work and lots of special people around her.

Chelsea is the second Laredoans in the past few years to win the Miss Texas Teen USA crown. You may recall Laredoan Lauren Guzman, also from Alexander, won the pageant in 2008.
