Suspect allegedly posed as a cop to buy a car

By KGNS News

A suspect is behind bars, accused of posing as a police officer to buy a car.

According to police, 38-year-old Victor Vargas wore a Laredo Police Department T-shirt and used a security badge when trying to conduct business at a local used-car dealership.

He allegedly used a forged pay stub, claiming he was employed by the city as a police officer.

When the finance company called the police department to verify employment, it was revealed that there was no Victor Vargas employed, prompting an investigation.

Vargas was arrested and is charged with posing as a police officer, forgery and making false statements to obtain property or credit.

This is proof that the Nuevo Laredo practices had been spilled to Laredo, This is the second case in a week, This is very serious to the safety of the citizens of Laredo, by the way,, Mr. Degollado was arrested back in 1990 due to the corruption involving the District Attorney Joe Rubio's father.

I agree with Gato Bonito...but remember hermano, that this is Laredo and Laredo is the laughing stock of Texas perhaps the US, when it comes to law enforcement, the judicial system. Tambien, Laredo is "Little Mexico" so no one should be too surprised.
