Inmate stabbed while in jail

New information is released regarding a stabbing that happened Friday night at the Webb County Jail.
Authorities say at least four people were involved in the incident.
We understand the incident happened Friday night about 20 minutes before midnight.
The Webb County Sheriff’s Office is saying today that several individuals assaulted a 27-year-old male inmate in one of the cells.
Emergency officials say he was transported in stable condition to Laredo Medical Center with multiple stab wounds to his upper body .
Sheriff's officials say a total of four individuals were charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, a second degree felony and engaging in organized criminal activity, a third degree felony.
One of the subjects was charged with interference with the duties of a public servant.
The criminal investigation division is now handling the case.
The names of the individuals are not being released at this time due to security issues.
The 27-year-old victim did not suffer life-threatening injuries and was treated and later remanded back to the Webb County Jail.
