I can't stand the music of Lil Wayne and I don't condone his pot use, but the Border Patrol has no business setting up internal checkpoints 70 miles from the border. They are an intrusion of our right to travel and a clear violation of the 4th amendment rights of all American Citizens.

David, checkpoints have been around for decades. We live on the border, drugs are a constant problem, and if WE (Americans) can stop them from going further into our nation, then I think it is valuable. Until marijuana becomes legal, then we will have to follow the laws of our country.

FREE WEEZY! The Border Patrol stopped him because they were just jealous that they had to work tonight and wouldn't be able to go to his concert.

wow..not only is Laredo infamously illiterate, but they are also dumb enough to stand in line and bear some unpleasant cold weather to see a parole violating thug who will now lose his career for a federal charge of trying to smuggle drugs illegally...Goes to show what Laredo's youth idea of a role model is..

Lol! I knew he would get busted for weed. In texas you cant fool the border patrol. The will get you every time. Goes to show you that the busses were up in smoke cause the drivers were taking the long way to Laredo. Thank goodness I didnt buy a ticket to see him on Friday! Lol! By the way I dont like his music if thats what you call music.

THIS is what our youth looks up to? Parents, if your children listen to this guy's music, please, just slap their ears back and make them go out and clean the garage!

I'm surprised that they only found weed and not all the other drugs that he probably uses. Just look at his eyes. He's not just on weed.

This is a publicity ploy by the Border Patrol. Think about it, they detain a celebrity thug- rapper at an internal checkpoint and they make sure that it makes national news. That will make people think that these checkpoints are effective but we border residents know better. Internal BP checkpoints are largely ineffective and are an intrusion on some very basic civil rights. That manpower would be better utilized at the border itself, i.e., at the river, in the brush, not 100 miles inland.

There is nothing so sad than to watch hundreds of people including our youth braving the cold to see a future convict. There is nothing to idolize in those two before or after jail. I really do not understand why someone or parents would choose to buy their kids a ticket to see such an awful role model like Lil Wayne or TI. Are we not trying to steer them off into the right path? That’s not the right message to send to our kids. LEC scratching the bottom of the barrel for artists.
